“This shooting reminded me of my music lessons when being a child: you know exactly what emotion is to be expressed (through the sounds then, with the help of mime and gesture now), you are even discussing this with your teacher, but ... actually you don't have the slightest idea how to do this. And then, after a long search, it suddenly (all by itself) strikes your mind and you don't really know where it has come from... You just feel this emotion so deeply that it goes out, onto the surface, even if it is not your immanent one”

Oksana

Oksana

She lives in Paris and works as a doctor-radiologist; she is fond of literature, art, and medicine.

"It was interesting to turn into an "acting" model. I'd never dreamed of becoming an actress, but, at the same time, I'd been curious to know what it was like - to express emotions. I would have never made up my mind for shooting if I hadn't trusted the photographer – and yet, it appeared difficult to be open and sincere. I don't know if I have been really successful, but, in any case, it seems to be my limit... I think that every sin is a result of continued or exaggerated virtue; there are no virtues without sins, and vice versa. This is the Universal Law of Balance; once it's broken, the world will become rather boring and completely different from what we like now."

Elina

She is a student, lives and studies in Paris; her hobbies are astrology and travelling.

"The idea of photographing for the project seemed to me unusual and “out of the blue”. Besides, I have always wanted to try myself as a model, and this shooting became a very successful debut."

She works in Saint Petersburg, in the banking sphere.

"I decided to participate in the project in order to try on different "roles" and look at myself from the outside. It was interesting to meet the photographer, whose works I had known long ago; as a result, I have got unforgettable and surprising photos ... It was a hard work, particularly when expressing dark emotions."

Ludmila

Ludmila

She studies in Paris at the Law Faculty of the University, preparing to enter the attorney school. In her free time she designs clothes and participates in “KVN” games.

"Back in Russia, I played in an amateur theater and enjoyed impersonating. And well, I had already managed to do this on stage, but never before the camera! That was why I liked the idea of this shooting. The results impressed me greatly! It appeared singular to see different states of my own soul. Some shots were rather surprising. To me, this photographing once again proved that the bad in man is far more noticeable and obvious. As for the good, it is more difficult to recognize; here, I think, "the heart is only sharp-sighted... "

Valentina

Valentina

She lives in Paris, works in the retail business; dedicates her spare time to sports and music.

"I wanted to participate for two reasons: first, to turn into a model for a while and second, because I believe that nowadays the world is ruled by seven sins rather than seven virtues. And it often happens that behind a pretty face there hide more vices than real beauty. One should remember this and not be deceived by good looks; we can exterminate vices, changing not only the expressions of our faces, but our behaviour."

None of the participants in this project is a professional actor or model. They are just ordinary people, who were interested in the idea and wanted to try and express their feelings and thoughts. For all this, I thank them sincerely.
